DatBot's NonFreeImageResizer

It would be of great help if you added a clear summary of what dimensions to use if you do not want the bot to resize your image for you.

Trying to parse your code, it seems it asks for a version of the image at 0.1M (just like WP:IMAGERES proscribes), and then compares the new image size to the old. If the change is less than 5%, the bot leave the image be.

However, I see several examples of images much less than 100K in size that were still resized by the bot. (Just one example: File:A_Slight_Trick_of_the_Mind.jpg going from 30 to 19K)

So it would be helpful if you provided the complete set of restrictions on the bot's front page. Something like "Stick to these dimensions and your picture is safe" advice. Cheers! CapnZapp (talk) 08:53, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) @CapnZapp: The bot is using 100,000 pixels (0.1 megapixels) (from WP:IMAGERES) with a decrease of at least 5%. You are confusing the pixels with the file size. For your example, it was initially 331 × 500 pixels = 165,500 pixels (0.1655 megapixels) and was reduced to 257 × 388 pixels = 99,716 pixels (0.099716 megapixels), which is ~60% smaller. Basically, just follow IMAGERES, keeping images under 100,000 pixels (0.1 megapixels). — JJMC89(T·C) 00:52, 11 September 2019 (UTC)

"album"

DatBot is picking up false positives when users are entering "album". I think it's reading it as "bum". Can you update the filter settings, please? Cheers, caknuck ° needs to be running more often 06:15, 14 August 2019 (UTC)

@Caknuck: do you know the filter ID/username of reportee? Dat GuyTalkContribs 19:11, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
ProducersUnited (talk · contribs · logs), filter 260. caknuck ° needs to be running more often 06:01, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
@Caknuck: The filter was triggered because of the addition of "nigga" in reference to Chris Browns' Side Nigga. I think this false positive is acceptable, but you can report it here. Dat GuyTalkContribs 09:01, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
My bad. It was 98.204.92.72 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) and filter 384. Sorry! caknuck ° needs to be running more often 15:20, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
